What’s next for this newsletter?
Hello friend,
Today is one of those days I feel blank.
Nothing concrete has come out so far. Everything I tried to write has turned out to be incoherent, vague, and all over the place.
One reason is that I am reconsidering many things related to this newsletter and reflecting on the journey of nearly 3 years. I am proud of the consistency so far but I also feel stuck because of stagnant growth in terms of numbers and writing quality.
Some of the key questions I am considering:
- What kind of writing has resonated with people the most so far? Are there any common patterns?
- Which editions have I enjoyed writing the most?
- What are my key strengths as a writer? What about the weaknesses?
- If I were to tell a stranger what I write about and why they should subscribe, what would that be?
So, as I reflect on these questions, I am going to keep this edition very short and leave you with 5 interesting things I have read/watched recently:
- Being more available to myself– I loved this essay by Isabel where she shares about how a creative or an entrepreneurial path is one of the steepest paths to self-actualization. This is because you are forced to face the parts of yourself and break patterns that no longer serve you.
- Reality Is Not What It Seems by Carlo Rovelli– I could not put down this book last weekend. It takes you on a journey of physics from 2000 years ago till about 2015. I am still processing it and I would perhaps write about it soon.
- The Second Moment of Creation – A beautiful PBS documentary about the evolution of art and creativity and its impact on human civilization.
- Loop Quantum Gravity: I watched this 15-minute video after reading the above book. If you have some idea of quantum mechanics and relativity, you might enjoy it.
- Proof of Spiritual Phenomenon by Mona Sobhani– This book was an eye-opener as it made me look at science and spirituality in ways I never imagined were possible. The author, a cognitive neuroscientist with over 15 years of experience, takes you on her journey from being a scientist to a spiritual seeker. Now, she calls herself a “spiritual scientist”!
That’s all from me this week, folks!
Until next time,
Love,
Ved
PS: If you have some thoughts on the questions I mentioned earlier, feel free to hit reply and share them. 🙂
