Remote Work, Consistency, & Creator Economy
Hello friend!
I went to the office after more than 2 years (I had started remote work back in 2019!).
It is a huge shift with repercussions on my daily routine and energy levels. Setting up a house in a new city, commuting, interacting with real people- everything feels exhausting for now.
More than that, it is the extra mind space I miss which I used to have while working remotely.
That is particularly important because writing still takes a major chunk of my day. The mind space is valuable to come up with ideas and accelerate the writing process. I find it tough to have that space when you are constantly surrounded by people.
While hopefully, I will adapt soon, this brings me to what I have been reading this week.
The Shift to Creator Economy
John Nicolas argues about how the world is moving from a traditional, institution-based economy to a creator economy and how it would change how we work and earn a living.
The Future of Remote Work: How the Greatest Human Migration will Happen in the Next 10 Years
This is a few months old yet it is the most comprehensive thing you can read about the evolution of remote work in three waves and the future. He argues that in the next decade, remote work would drive the biggest migration which could be more than 37 million!! This is the number of Europeans who moved to the US in the 19th and 20th centuries- the Great Atlantic Migration.

On Consistency from Wait But Why- Shared by Dickie Bush
Not just in writing but in any creative endeavor, the power of consistency still holds to carve an identity from habit.
Time and again, I have often grossly underestimated the power of small, consistent actions.
I had almost made up my mind to not send this newsletter today because I thought I won’t have time after work. But then revisited the above quote last night and here I am at 7 am in the morning trying to finish this up before work so it can go on time!!
I believe some public commitment also leads to consistency!
Thanks to you who have kindly subscribed and agreed to become a part of my journey! 🙂
Hope you are having a fantastic week!
