The Messy Closet
Hello friend
Have you ever looked closely inside your closet?
Is it messy or organized? Or a mix of both.
This weekend, I was looking inside my closet.
It had clothes along with some waste paper, suitcase, umbrella, tripod, light bulb.
Basically, 40% of items which I am yet to use so far.
I had a realization.
I realized that the closet is, more often than not, a reflection of my internal state.
I tend to have a messy closet yet I have an uncluttered desk.
Sometimes closet is the place to park things that I cannot deal with at the moment.
Just like I would keep a thought or a feeling hidden unless I cannot take it anymore.
The closet reflects the mess within me whereas the spotless environment is my external perception.
I need order in my environment to work even though the internal state could be messy.
When both are messy, I am completely off balance.
Similar is true for some insanely creative people I know closely.
Their outer environment might look messy but they have organized closets.
They are the ones who thrive in chaos coming up with creative ideas but centered in some way.
I wonder if cleaning up the closet leads to a shift in the internal state, even if temporarily.
Because if you do not do it consciously, the mess becomes messier until it cannot stay inside.
It finds its way to come out in some way or the other.
Of lately, I have been getting this feeling that the internal mess is going to be cleared away soon. Not just for me, but for many people out there.
Call it intuition or gut instinct or a batshit crazy thought out of nowhere. It is like a critical mass of people starting from a clean slate with a crystal clear inner compass.
And it will all start with people being aware of their closets.
So, have you looked inside your closet yet?
Until next time

PS: As some of you might realize, this is again a completely new form of this newsletter. This is partly because I was running short of time to process what I consumed this week to share it with you all and this closet incident was lingering in my head for too long.
Secondly, I genuinely feel there is something going on at both individual and the collective level. It is reflected in the chaos and mess that is manifested in different ways around me, both personally and people around me. I do not know what the outcome will be.
What I know and hope for me, as well as you, is to find the courage to clear the closets and get rid of things that no longer serve you. 🙂
That was one long PS! 😀
