Top recommendations of the week
I wanted to write about a lot of things this week.
But, unfortunately, everything I wrote turned out to be sh*t.
I have not been in the best frame of mind this week. So, the mood spilled over to my creative spark and flow despite the ample time I had to develop this newsletter.
It happens to the best of us.
So, I will try to remain calm and kind to myself. And, simply do the next best thing I can: share what I have been watching, listening, or reading lately.
Here are a few things I have loved over the past few weeks:
- Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir: I read fiction after a long time and now I know I need to do more of it. This book got me hooked from start to end. It is one of the best sci-fi novels I have read about space exploration and what it means to be human. Immensely imaginative and thrilling!
- Ted Lasso: I have been watching an episode or two daily of this show for the last two weeks. It is funny, optimistic, heartwarming, and one of the rare shows that talk about mental health and anxiety in a refreshing, subtle way. It has already made me cry a few times and it was beautifully cathartic.
- Running a business based on intuition: This is a podcast episode by Paul Millerd who interviews Jenny Blake about her journey of discovering her unique path. I resonated with a lot of things she said but one thing that I loved and remember is her philosophy of “we’ll see” when things go wrong.
- the masks we wear and what’s underneath them: This article compares performance and self-expression and the impact of both approaches on your sense of self. I am still reflecting on this but I think it is a valuable read for anyone who wants to take off the mask and live from the place of their authentic self.
That’s all from me this week, folks!
Until next time,
